7/25/2023 0 Comments Kia motor finance companyThe next day, Kia messaged me that it had completed the review of the lease buyout details and was working to request the leased vehicle's title. I replied with the completed mileage statement. The third asked me to send an odometer disclosure statement either by replying to the email or via fax. One confirmed that the lease buyout process had been initiated. One said that something was missing, but didn't say what. I went to the site and it had 3 messages. A week later, they contacted me via email with a link to a secured message site. I sent in the check and a printout of their buyout offer. I had ascertained that Kia's price included the residual value plus my final lease payment, state sales tax and fees, but there was no itemized list of everything, so it wasn't clear if Kia covered the cost of retitling the car. ![]() My only complaint is that communication from Kia could be greatly improved. But, I found the process to be reasonably pain-free. They need to stop approving people that can barely afford their payments, it's ridiculous.īefore I bought out the lease, I ran across this site and got worried about the many negative reviews. I'm grateful they haven't repossessed my vehicle yet because I need it right now, but I am ready to give it back at the same time. I'm surrendering the vehicle and I am so happy to be rid of KMF. I ended up having to file bankruptcy so thankfully the harassing calls have stopped. Guess what? It's a pandemic and everyone is kind of messed up financially right now. They'd pressure me into asking my friends and family for money to make my payment. When I'd speak to them they almost demanded payment. After I was 2 days late on my payment they called me incessantly, 3 even 4 times a day. I had made about 4-5 payments in full and on time from the beginning of the loan. I reached out multiple times via messages to Kia about my situation and asked for payment deferral and no one ever got back to me. I then lost my job instead, due to the pandemic. How I even got approved for a loan for a $20,000+ loan is beyond me, but being dumb and overly excited I accepted because I knew I'd be getting a raise within the next few weeks. I was making $12 an hour at the time working full-time. I went in for a used Kia or at the most a new one without a bunch of bells and whistles, and felt like I was pressured into getting a new car and the guy ended up selling me a brand new GT-Line Kia Soul. ![]() I bought a new Kia right before the pandemic hit.
